In reality, the employment protection coverage is much more heavily used by our members than is liability protection. This means you will be provided legal assistance in many employment disputes, recommendations for non-reemployment, termination of employment, and reduction in force. Access to your legal protection is not dependent upon whether your case is determined to be in the best interest of Professional Educators of Tennessee. Unlike other organizations, where such employment protection is discretionary, Professional Educators of Tennessee has no committee or group of people who will decide whether or not you will be represented should you face such an employment situation. This coverage saves our members thousands of dollars in legal fees every year and provides immeasurable peace of mind.
Our philosophy is the best way to avoid having a situation escalate to a legal problem is to call us before the situation gets out of hand. It is very important to know your legal rights and responsibilities. Your membership with Professional Educators of Tennessee ensures that we help make sure your rights are protected. Please do not call an outside attorney until you have first called our office.
In the event you are served with an arrest warrant, call our office immediately for assistance. A receipt for the bail bond premium should be mailed to us along with the arrest warrant. This information will be forwarded to the insurance company for reimbursement.
